Winter Wonderland

It is COLD outside! Actually, really COLD! After the weeks of 85 degree, humid, muggy, soupy weather….I’ll take it! I’m a bit of a cooler weather gal {Texas cool weather…not arctic cool}, so I am really excited. It definitely feels a lot more like Christmas now. :)

Since we’re getting our own version of a winter blast, I thought it would be an appropriate day for me to share my own little winter wonderland that I have set up on our master bedroom dresser.

Winter Wonderland Vignette

It all started with this little white tree I bought on Black Friday last year at Kohls. I’m a little bit smitten by this tree. It has gradually gained a few ornaments here and there. I started last year with some silver ornaments from the Dollar Tree. They have tubes of silver  and gold balls {that I’ve seen this year as well}. I sent the gold ones to our main tree and just kept the silver for this one. There are a few glittery balls, and the rest are your average shiny Christmas ornaments. I sponge painted a few of them with craft paint to create faux mercury glass ornaments.

I also found these awesome vintage ornaments at World Market last year. They always have the cutest Christmas stuff! The set came with a deer {my fave, of course}, a snowman, and Santa.

This year, I added a few white and silver owls from Hobby Lobby {in their mini tree section} and some clear glass balls.

This guy also made his way home with me from Hob Lob. Did I mention I’m obsessed with deer right now? I know. It’s a problem.

The tree skirt is also from Hobby Lobby’s mini tree section. I bought this last year, but have seen some this year as well. I think it ended up only costing me around $2.

On the right side of the dresser, I added a few more winter scenes in a variety of glass containers and a nativity figurine.

The white, silver, and blue palette fits perfectly in our bedroom. Between my vintage winter vignette, my milk glass lamps, and sunburst mirror…it feels like you’ve stepped back into the 60’s a bit. In the best of ways.

I hope you’re staying nice and bundled up if it’s cold where you are, too! Tonight will definitely involve lighting our fireplace and eating chili while we watch the Texans {hopefully} beat up on the Patriots.

Have a great Monday!
